Tamarac, FL. – April 25, 2011 – University Hospital and Medical Center (UHMC) has appointed Mark Rader as its new Chief Executive Officer. 

 Mr. Rader has over 20 years of healthcare experience and has been with HCA for the past 16 years. During his time with HCA, Mr. Rader has served as the Chief Executive Officer for Palmyra Medical Center in Albany, Georgia since 2009. Prior to moving to Georgia, Mr. Rader served as Chief Executive Officer at Pulaski Community Hospital in Pulaski, Virginia, as well as various other leadership positions throughout HCA.

 Mr. Rader received his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Radford University and Master’s degree in Health Services Administration from Duke University.

 Since arriving at Palmyra, Mr. Rader has become very involved in the local community, serving on numerous Boards and charitable organizations.  His participation included serving on the Board of Directors of the Albany Area Chamber of Commerce, the Board of Directors of the United Way, the Board of Directors of the Boys and Girls Club, as Chairman of the United Way Finance Committee, a member of both the Military Affairs Committee of the Chamber of Commerce, the Rotary Club of Dougherty County, and a member of the Leesburg United Methodist Church.  

 Mr. Rader will continue his passion for philanthropy and community service as he begins his career in South Florida.  Mr. Rader will begin his first community based leadership role as a Board of Director for the Tamarac Chamber of Commerce. As University Hospital and Medical Center continues to grow within the West Broward County community so will Mr. Rader’s presence as a civil and charitable leader and role model.
